Tesla Chargers (EVSE)
Tesla offers its own charging stations, but other models may better meet your needs. Here’s what you need to know:
All Teslas are equipped with a NACS connector. This standard has recently been opened to other electric vehicle brands, and more and more models will soon be equipped with NACS connectors. However, for now, the J1772 connector remains the most widespread at charging stations and on electric vehicles. Therefore, nothing prevents you from using a station equipped with a J1772 connector, with an adapter.
With a charging station equipped with a J1772 connector, you will not be limited in your choice of station and will have access to most models available on the market, allowing you to find the station perfectly suited to your current and long-term needs. This is particularly useful if, in the future, you no longer own a Tesla vehicle or if you have a second vehicle of another brand equipped with a J1772 port. This type of station offers universal compatibility with both types of connectors.
