The recharging time depends on several factors such as the power of the vehicle’s on-board charger, the size of the vehicle’s battery, the level of the vehicle’s battery at the time of recharging and the power that the charging station can provide. The standard level 2 terminals can supply a power of 7.2kW (30A at 240VAC). For example, a vehicle that has a 3.3kW on-board charger and a 20kW-hr battery that is completely empty takes about 6 hours to charge. On the other hand, if the on-board charger of your car has a power of 7.2kW, the recharging time will decrease to around 3h. Vehicle charging is always managed by the car itself via its on-board charger.
